I thought it would be a good idea to share the brands and models of scuba equipment I use in a tropical island setting. My first criteria in choosing personal gear is fit and comfort. But beyond these, my selection weighs in durability because I do hundreds of dives per year. Availability of parts and service in the Philippines. Performance on the function of the gear figures highly too. The latter includes consideration of: streamlining, modularity, interoperability with other gear, functionality on emergency situations and price.
Elastomeric Bungee Ready Mount for Uwatec Digital Bottom Timers, Aladin Tec2G, Aladin Prime and Subgear XP10
A replacement “boot” or Mount for the Popular Uwatec Digital Bottom Timers. These “Hockey Puck” style bottom timers are sold under several names, OMS, ScubaPro etc. This replacement mount is lower profile, and is designed to accept 1/8 in. to 3/16 in. diameter Bungee Cord. Bungee Cord mounted gauges are far easier to don than Buckled straps, and are depth compensating. This mount can be fitted with one continuous bungee, (as shown in the photos) or two separate loops for redundancy. Simple, secure, snap in installation, tough elastomeric material, remains flexible at low temperatures.
